Peterik / Scherer EPK (Official / Studio Album / 2015)

SURVIVOR founding member JIM PETERIK discovers a new voice in MARC SCHERER and creates RISK EVERYTHING – to be released on Frontiers in   April.

Frontiers Music SRL presents an album from legendary Grammy Award-winner and founding member of Survivor, Jim Peterik, created around the 5-octave instrument that is Marc Scherer's voice. The resulting CD, Risk Everything, is slated to drop on April 17th in Europe and April 21st in North America.

Jim discovered Scherer's talent while Marc was recording vocals for his band at Jim Peterik's World Stage International studios in Burr Ridge, outside Chicago. Impressed with what he heard, Peterik chose Marc to demo the tunes he wrote for the Pride of Lions album, Immortal. Scherer's back-up singing blended so seamlessly with frontman Toby Hitchcock's voice that Peterik was then inspired to write songs specifically for it.

'When I first heard Marc's amazing voice pouring through my studio door, I could not believe my ears', says Jim. 'Truly, one of the best voices I've heard – and I've worked with the best!'

Risk Everything, co-written by both artists and produced by Peterik, provides the perfect frame for Scherer's gift – a voice of such astonishing clarity and glass-shattering power that it is hard to believe he isn't already a major star.

An integral part of Peterik's genius is his ability to tap into and perfectly utilize the talent that surrounds him. For this project, he called on Pride of Lions drummer Ed Breckenfeld and Buddy Rich's grandson, Nick Rich, for percussion. Then, he got bassists like Klem Hayes (also from Pride of Lions), Survivor's Bill Syniar and noted studio musician Bob Lizik to contribute. POL's Mike Aquino was smoking hot on guitar, along with Jim, who doubled on keys. Guest vocalists Toby Hitchcock, Santana's Alex Ligertwood and Broadway star of Wicked, Shoshana Bean, rounded out the creative brain trust.

As Scherer says, 'Jim and I have had a few near-miss opportunities to work together, but the stars didn't align until this project. I am utterly in awe of the man's songwriting, producing and musical talent. He takes guitar playing to another level. His work on Cold Blooded is so nuanced and expressive, it's like another voice singing along with me.'

One listen to that Survivor-inspired track or the Styx-influenced Thee Crescendo proves that Risk Everything has brought out some of the finest songwriting of Jim Peterik's phenomenal career, enhanced by Scherer's powerful, off-the-chain, melodic rock tenor.

Scherer will appear as a special guest of Pride of Lions when they headline at Frontiers Rock Festival II on April 12th in Trezzo Sull'Adda (Milano), Italy. There will also be a special surprise Festival only release from Jim Peterik (featuring Marc Scherer and more legendary artists) to be announced shortly.

The Risk Everything track list includes: Risk Everything; Chance of a Lifetime; Cold Blooded; Desperate in Love; Thee Crescendo; The Dying of the Light; How Long is a Moment; Brand New Heart; Broken Home; Milestones and Independence Day.

Rick Springfield "Jessie's Girl" (Live) - STRIPPED DOWN OUT FEBRUARY 27th

earMUSIC under exclusive license from Loud & Proud Records is proud to announce the release of Stripped Down, a new CD/DVD set from Grammy Award winning artist Rick Springfield on February 27, 2015.

For the last two years, Springfield has been treating fans to a special ongoing series of intimate solo performances of his vast repertoire, telling stories, explaining lyrics and generally connecting with his always-loyal fan base. This CD/DVD set features highlights from those performances with compelling video on the DVD as well as a new song, the clever "If Wishes Were Fishes”, plus 14 Springfield songs recorded live, including dynamic covers of the classics "Oh Well," "Rollin' & Tumblin'" and "Baby Blue.”

Springfield says, “I am pretty excited for earMUSIC and Loud & Proud Records’ CD/DVD release of Stripped Down. The conception and execution of my solo storytellers show  is something I basically worked on my whole life and it's awesome to bring the finished product to the fans who embraced it with the sold out shows across America in 2014. Now, if you can't make it to one of my 2015 Stripped Down dates live, you can enjoy it in the comfort of your own living room…naked, if you want.”

With 25 million records sold, a Grammy Award for his #1 smash-hit  “Jessie’s Girl,” and whopping 17 Top 40 hits including “Don’t Talk to  Strangers,” “Affair of the Heart,” “I've Done Everything for You,” “Love Somebody” and “Human Touch,” Springfield has no intention of taking his foot off the accelerator. “I put everything I've got into making records,” he says. “Sometimes people think they have you pegged but I trust my music show them otherwise”.

Although music is Springfield’s first love, he still continues to act. He recently finished filming Ricki and the Flash with co-star Meryl Streep and director Jonathan Demme. The film is expected to be released in the summer of 2015. Springfield is currently working on Season 2 of HBO’s critically acclaimed True Detective, which will return to TV later this year. Along with his notorious role as Dr. Drake on General Hospital, Springfield’s guest-starred on an episode of Drop Dead Diva in 2014, and can be seen on other notable TV roles including a 4-episode arc on Californication and Hawaii Five-O.

Springfield is not only gifted musician and actor he is also a talented writer. He released his first fiction novel Magnificent Vibration on May 6th, 2014. The book received rave reviews from literary publications Kirkus and Booklist and became Springfield’s second book (First book, Late, Late at Night) to make the NY Times Best Sellers List. Springfield’s autobiography, Late, Late at Night, published by Simon & Schuster’s Touchstone imprint in 2010, entered The New York Times best-seller list at No. 13 and hit the Los Angeles Times and Publishers Weekly lists as well. Rolling Stone named it one of the top-25 rock autobiographies of all time.

In 2013, Springfield teamed up with Dave Grohl on Grohl’s multi-faceted passion project, Sound City, which encompassed a documentary (Sound City), an album (Sound City: Real to Reel), and the Sound City Players tour, a string of critically acclaimed shows with fellow documentary subjects including Stevie Nicks, Trent Reznor, John Fogerty, and Lee Ving among others. Each artist’s set was backed by The Foo Fighters, and Springfield’s own set included notable declarations from Grohl such as, "I want to be Rick Springfield." and “Bucket list. Check."

The Man That Never Was has been widely recognized by critics as one of the best songs on the Sound City album. “The highlights… are led by Stevie Nicks and, yes, Rick Springfield” said People. Springfield has also been hailed for his part in the documentary: “The film's breakout story is arguably Rick Springfield” said Rolling Stone. The Sound City: Real to Reel CD also won the 2014 Grammy for “Best Compilation Soundtrack.”

Flyleaf "Thread" (Official Lyric Video)

Music comes to life when it must. It lies dormant and then blossoms in its creator at just the right moment. For Flyleaf, that was definitely the case when they began making their fourth full-length album. “Between The Stars” will be released on October 31st, 2014 on earMUSIC under exclusive license to Loud & Proud Records.

You could chalk it up to serendipity, but it simply feels meant to be. Seizing that spirit, the band — Kristen May [vocals], Sameer Bhattacharya [guitar], Jared Hartmann [guitar], Pat Seals [bass], and James Culpepper [drums] — immediately thrust themselves into the creative process. The lyrics and Kristen's delivery matched the heavy, hypnotic soundscapes that the band conjured up in the studio. Everything solidified into a clear and cohesive vision.

Flyleaf sought out the production talents of the iconic Don Gilmore [Linkin Park, Pearl Jam, Bullet For My Valentine, Three Days Grace, Avril Lavigne], holing up in a Los Angeles studio with him for a month during the spring of 2014. With Gilmore behind the board, they captured a certain "magic" that proved both passionate and palpable.

For proof, look no further than the first single "Set Me On Fire" - a brooding bass line builds along with an entrancing verse before igniting an undeniably incendiary chorus.

Shot with director Noel Maitland (Speechless, Kings of Summer) in an abandoned warehouse in downtown Los Angeles.

Kristen explains, “It’s about the passion we feel when we first fall in love and our emotions are running high, along with our thirst for this great life and all it has to offer. There is so much beauty, excitement and hope in this world and when we collide with one another and fall in love, magic happens. I hope everyone turns this song up to eleven, and sings at the top of their lungs.”

The fans have been with Flyleaf for the entire ride, beginning over a decade ago. Along the way, their self-titled debut went platinum and yielded the hit "All Around Me," which also moved over one million digital downloads. The record spent 133 weeks in the Billboard Top 200, climbing to the Top 15 of the Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts as well. Its follow-up, “Memento Mori”, saw the group crack the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 200. They've touched down for shows everywhere from Afghanistan, where they played for the troops, to sold out gigs around the U.S. alongside everybody from Rage Against The Machine to Deftones to Cage The Elephant.

Ultimately, that audience remains closer to the musicians' hearts than ever before.

“This album is a reminder that we're alive,” Sameer declares. “Embrace life now. That's a recurring theme since our inception. We want people to know they're alive, they're loved, and there's hope. That's what we want to  share."

Kristen concludes, "I hope it's an album people can listen to for years to come. We put our hearts and souls into it, and I want them to hear that."

Level 10 - Cry No More Lyric Video (Official / 2015 / R. Allen M. Sinner)

AVAILABLE NOW! Order Level 10 "Chapter One".

Level 10 is a new Trans-Atlantic Metallic alliance between powerhouse vocalist Russell Allen (Symphony X, Adrenaline Mob) and the charismatic bassist/producer/writer Mat Sinner, one of the real flags of German Heavy Metal music.

The pair met a few times during the years and swore to each other to fine the time and the chance to work together. The occasion came about when Frontiers President, Serafino Perugino managed to connect again the two and have them committed for the creation of a new Metal album which could melt the more contemporary and aggressive sound of Adrenaline Mob with the more traditional European Power Metal assault from Primal Fear.

Sinner did not save any effort and put together a killer lineup for the album, including his Primal Fear cohorts Randy Black (on drums) and Alex Beyrodt (on guitar) and called Roland Grapow (ex Helloween) and Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Voodoo Circle) to complete the lineup on lead guitar and keyboards respectively. On the songwriting side – besides the band members – the album also seens contributions from Magnus Karlsson, Carsten Schulz, Sander Gommans and Amanda Somerville.

While the recording took a long time in between the commitments from the various musicians involved in this release, the result is an outstanding and super heavy – yet infectiously melodic album! With Allen’s over-the-top vocals and a powerful lineup second to none, the resulting album is – from start to finish a true delight for all the metal fans!

LEVEL 10
Russell Allen – Lead & Backing Vocals
Mat Sinner – Bass & Backing Vocals
Roland Grapow – Guitars
Alex Beyrodt – Guitars
Randy Black – Drums & Percussion
Alessandro Del Vecchio - Keyboards
