Stratovarius "Unbreakable" Official Video from the album "Nemesis"
Stratovarius are hailed as one of the most influential and successful Melodic Metal bands in the world and they have managed to establish themselves as one of metal scene's heavy names.
The new album "Nemesis" unites all the best traits of the band's melodic, powerful, fresh and technically elaborated metal, all spiced up with an incredible sense of melody.
The album was produced and mixed by Matias Kupiainen and mastered by Mika Jussila (Finnvox studios) who has a long history with the band.
"Nemesis" has a dark and more modern sound compared to the band's last album "Elysium". It clearly shows how much the band has matured and grown as songwriters. At the same time, the band focused all their attention and work into creating and recording "Nemesis". Singer Timo Kotipelto has spent three weeks recording the vocals in a cottage in the Finnish countryside.
Matias Kupiainen adds: "I have more or less lived in the studio for four months, obsessing over every detail. I feel very relieved that we are done and I am very happy with the material and the sound."
Timo Kotipelto agrees: "Making the album this time was easier because we gave it as much time as it needed. We have worked our asses off to make this and we hope the fans will like it."
Without doubt, the fans will love it! The album has it all. From the typical melodic and powerful Stratovarius sound in "Abandon", to the aggressive and energetic "Stand My Ground", the album represents the new style of the band mixed with good old melodic power metal.
Stratovarius´ musical approach is today wider and richer than ever. The song "Fantasy" sounds almost ABBA-esque with its catchy pop tune, but it´s powered by the famous Stratovarius metal sound, louder than ever.
"Out Of The Fog" integrates some folk music elements, with lyrics telling the story of a young person forced to march blindly into battle.
The only ballad on the album, "If The Story Is Over", is a very emotional song with a grand arrangement that builds up to using the full band and ends with a small female choir.
The title track "Nemesis" is a typical Stratovarius song, with echoes of medieval melodies with powerful double bass drumming and the catchy pop melodies from this side of the millennium.
Says Timo Kotipelto: "The title track of the album; with its modern twist on the myth of Nemesis, it tells a story of a preacher who gives each one what they deserve, good or bad. The song has a very nice riff, cool melodies and a great good old Stratovarius style chorus."

It's more or less done, the wait is over. Finally, the 11th studio album from GAMMA RAY "Empire Of The Undead" is almost* done and ready to go.

"Empire Of The Undead" the fast metal song in the typical GAMMA RAY style that has influenced so many bands around the world, has appeared on the single / EP "Master Of Confusion" an appetizer the band released in 2013, just before touring the world non-stop with "relatives" Helloween.
GAMMA RAY worked on the new album during various sessions in 2013, during and in between their perennial tour with Eike Freese at the mixing desk supporting the ever precious work of bass player and co-writer Dirk Schlaechter.
It was just after landing in South America, that a unbelievable news reached Kai Hansen & co.: Hammer Studio, their home, rehearsal place, studio and meeting point for many metal bands in Germany had been blown away by a terrifying fire-stroke, together with instruments, amps, tapes...
Back in their hometurf the band needed to get an overview about their losses only to do what they do best -- move on! With that usual Kai Hansen smirk look...
Life is too good to stop and moan.
Nearly everything was destroyed, except the tapes of the almost finished new studio album.
"If this could not stop us... nothing ever will" -- joked Kai Hansen - who also added. "We got rid of a lot of shit that we gathered there. Unfortunately a lot of good equipment as well. Anyhow, we look into the future and we saved the production and we can continue now in this new place. By mid January we should be done with the work on this album and it's up to the record company to release it -- sometime in March.
"Empire Of The Undead" will be released as CD, LP, Limited edition CD with extra visual content and a box that features the CD, a shirt and a poster.
The new album follows the success of "To The Metal" which brought GAMMA RAY back in the highest positions of the sales charts worldwide.
Parallel to the album announcement GAMMY RAY are also announcing their spring tour that comes with the album that will take them from Prag to Helsinki and from Athens to Hamburg across the whole European continent.

With a special concert in their hometown Sao Paulo and an incredible live show, Angra celebrated the 20th anniversary of their 1993 debut album "Angels Cry" on August 25th, 2013.
Joined by Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire, Vision Divine, ex-Kamelot) on vocals, the Brazilian melodic metal band performed their debut almost in its entirety, adding on top a couple of fan favourites as well as songs from their most recent recordings for a over 20 songs containing setlist.
"Angels Cry -- 20th Anniversary Tour" will be released on 2CD, DVD and Blu-ray on January 31st, 2014 via earMUSIC.
Project Aegis - Collide & Spark [teaser]
Ulterium Records is proud to announce the release of "Collide & Spark", an all-star charity track for sale with 100% of the income going to The Bridge Bunch, an organization dedicated to serving the homeless population of Nashville, TN, in the United States.
The song, which is almost seven minutes in length, is being released under the banner Project Aegis, and was composed by Theocracy vocalist and songwriter Matt Smith. It features vocals by Nils K. Rue [Pagan's Mind], Henrik Båth [Darkwater], Elin Redin [End of September] and Smith, as well as a guitar solo by Markus Sigfridsson [Darkwater, Harmony].
The artwork was created by Felipe Machado Franco [Blind Guardian, Rhapsody of Fire] and designed by Markus Sigfridsson.

On January 17th, 2013, W.E.T. played an exclusive show at the Debaser Club in Stockholm, Sweden to celebrate the release of their sophomore album, "Rise Up". The show was promoted almost exclusively through a viral web campaign, so that night the faithful and energized crowd's fever for the band, featuring Robert Säll (the "W" from Work of Art), Erik Mårtensson (the "E" from Eclipse) and Jeff Scott Soto (the "T" from Talisman) was incredibly high (despite the cold Swedish winter being in full force). Fans flew in from all over the world and the venue was packed to the rafters when the band hit the stage with their driving number "Walk Away".
W.E.T showcased songs from the then forthcoming album "Rise Up" as well as from the critically acclaimed self-titled 2009 debut album. A truly exquisite performance, where the band played many fan favorites including two Talisman songs, as well as one song each from Eclipse and Work of Art. The Eclipse song was "Bleed & Scream" which was sung by Erik Mårtensson and the Work Of Art song was "The Great Fall" where the band were joined by Lars Säfsund, lead singer of W.O.A.
The resulting album "One Live - In Stockholm" captures a stunning performance and celebrates the birth of W.E.T. as a kick-ass live unit.

The set features several tracks from the "Stranger In Us All" album alongside classic Rainbow and Deep Purple tracks. Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of the anticipated HOUSE OF LORDS brand new studio album entitled "Precious Metal" on February 21st in Europe and February 24th in North America.
"Precious Metal" is HOUSE OF LORDS' ninth studio album, following up the critically acclaimed "Big Money". This brand new release, recorded and produced by the band's singer and mastermind James Christian, again has a stellar sound, with solid and baroque songwriting mixed with unique melodic sensibilities and amazing musical skills.
Musically "Precious Metal" shows a return to the roots of the band's sound. James Christian as usual sings his heart out and he sounds better than ever on these new songs. Guitarist Jimi Bell shines with heavy, but melodic riffs throughout the album, with Chris McCarville and BJ Zampa bringing a solid and powerful rhythm foundation to the House of Lords sound.
In James Christian's words: "When we started to write this record, we knew after the 1st song that we were on to something special. The energy level was off the charts for all of us. Jimi Bell came out swinging and BJ and Chris were just crushing it. Recording this album was very easy as the songs already had arrangements that were complete. Precious Metal is a testament to years of being a band that loves what they do and has so much more to offer in the years to come."
House of Lords debuted in 1989 with the release of the self-titled album, a monumental Arena Hard Rock release which showcased the soaring vocals of James Christian and instrumental capabilities of the band (which featured ex Angel and Giuffria Gregg Giuffria, along with such luminaries as Lanny Cordola, Chuck Wright and Ken Mary), reminiscent of such frontrunners as Whitesnake, Deep Purple and Van Halen, immediately brought the band to the attention of the media and fans. After another 2 albums released until 2002, House of Lords went into hibernation until the original lineup came back together in 2000, releasing of the controversial "Power and the Myth" an album which featured a sound leaning more towards Progressive Hard Rock with 70's rock influences.
After a short European tour, singer James Christian decided to go back to the trademark Arena Rock sound of House Of Lords, putting together a new line-up. Since 2006 the band has a stable line-up featuring Jimi Bell on guitars, B.J. Zampa on drums and Chris McCarvill on bass which has been delivering impressive shows and fine releases such as "World Upside Down, "Come to My Kingdom", "Cartesian Dreams" and the recent "Big Money".

Black Label Society, formed in the late nineties by legendary guitar hero Zakk Wylde, have established themselves at the forefront of heavy metal with a series of hard riffing and hugely successful albums alongside worldwide tours that have cemented their reputation as one of the most powerful live bands of their generation. "Unblackened" finds Black Label Society in a mellower mood in a performance filmed at Club Nokia in Los Angeles earlier this year.
