This June finds the release of one of Marillion's strongest live releases so far: "A Sunday Night Above The Rain" provides the best possible sound and glorious high definition vision of one of the best progressive rock bands around on 2CD, 2DVD and Blu-ray. It will be released on June 27th, 2014 on earMUSIC.
Recorded on March 10, 2013 at the band's bi-annual Marillion Weekend at Center Parcs in Port Zelande, the Netherlands, this live CD is one not to miss. Thousands of fans travelled from over 44 countries around the world to be a part of this truly amazing night.
For the first time, Marillion performed all of the tracks from their widely acclaimed and most recent studio album "Sounds That Can't Be Made". Besides the eight album tracks, the band also played a selection of fan favourites ranging from "This Strange Engine" to "Garden Party".

STATE OF SALAZAR GOING "ALL THE WAY" WITH THE RELEASE OF THEIR DEBUT ALBUM OUT ON FRONTIERS IN AUGUST
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of Swedish melodic rockers STATE OF SALAZAR debut album entitled "All the Way" on August 22nd in Europe and August 26th in North America.
STATE OF SALAZAR came to the attention of Frontiers A&R dept after the release of their debut EP "Lost my Way" in the summer of 2012. Reviews spread fast in magazines and blogs and created a flood of praise from all over the world during a very short period: "This is something that can grow really big." "...State Of Salazar will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the genre." "...this EP is an extremely polished piece of art..." "The performances and the production are superb..."
With bands such as Toto, Queen, Journey, Survivor and especially Bill Conti and Vince DiCola (Rocky IV's « Training Montage » writer and performer) in their influences list, STATE OF SALAZAR have indeed a lot to prove. They handle all this pressure with their heads held high since it is a quintet with great musicians! All members -- Marcus Nygren, vocals, Johan Thuresson, guitars, Johannes Hansson, bass, Kristian Brun, drums and Stefan Mårtenson, keyboards -- have extensive live and studio experience. In other words, these guys know what they are doing and they already showed it to the unsuspecting public of the first Frontiers Rock Festival in Milan where they took the audience by surprise with their "feel good" Melodic Rock music.
"I feel that I've developed my songwriting a lot since the songs for the EP" says singer Marcus Nygren. "However everyone of us put his own personality on the musical performances on the album and every single detail has been worked with and we sound like a band who took it All The Way!".
"More than a year of hard work from everyone involved, made it possible for us to develop our sound and actually find out who we are, musically as a group" adds bassist Johannes Hansson. "From epic synths, angelic choirs and guitar soundscapes to unison low E-string riffs we've allowed ourselves to indulge what we want the music to say without having to adapt. Believe me when I say that big things are coming in 2014", concludes guitarist Johan Thuresson.
STATE OF SALAZAR is therefore ready to show the world that they are definitely not a retro band, or a walk down memory lane. They write songs and play music that strives forward and not backwards. Their songwriting, arranging and instrumental performance show that this is a band that wants to develop and give its contribution to the Melodic Rock genre.

THE MIRACLE OF TESSIN
The album already dominates the Swiss charts' Top 5 for the fifth week and the new single "BANG!" even ups the ante: Featuring original material from the 50ies, GOTTHARD have created their own version of "The Wonder of Bern" with their clip for the new release. The entertaining and infectious interpretation was shot at the Lugano stadium with the help of the Swiss soccer heroes (and fans and friends of the band) Pascal "Zubi" Zuberbühler, Kubilay "Kubi" Türkyilmaz, and Antonio Esposito, of course featuring Leo, Nic, Freddy, Hena, and Marc as well -- in very special outfits ... expect to be surprised! For the time being, Pascal "Zubi" Zuberbühler reveals the following: "When Marc Lynn called me and asked if I wanted to be in the video for "BANG!", I said yes straight away! I've often been to concerts and parties of the boys and it was always very cool. GOTTHARD simply are "geili Sieche" (cool dudes) and the shoot was extremely fun -- I haven't laughed so hard in a long time!" -- So, get into party mood, when the band, in anticipation of the World Cup and full of pride for their Swiss National Team, dedicates its new single to this soccer summer while "BANG!" lines up the shot for World Soccer Party Anthem No.1!
ROCK GOES JAPAN
After the sensational kick-off at the "Under the Bridge" festival, GOTTHARD provide the necessary „BANG!" live at the festivals in Murten and Hinwil in June as well. End of September, the amps will be loaded into the plane to perform the newly confirmed dates in the land of the rising sun, and from October 15 on, the arenas in Europe will set alight as well. "BANG!" tickets are available at box offices everywhere.

The debut album of RIK PRIEM'S PRIME will be released through Avenue Of Allies on May 23rd 2014. Several familiar names of the international Hard and Heavy scene were involved in the recording and the production process of guitar player Rik Priem's band project. The German musicians Carsten 'Lizard' Schulz (Dead End Heroes, Frozen Rain, Lavalle, Evidence One, Midnite Club) on lead vocals and Rami Ali (Freedom Call, Iron Mask, Lavalle, Frontline, Evidence One) on drums are well known faces in the recording studio and on stages around the world. Rik first met Carsten during the making of the second Frozen Rain album "Ahead Of Time".
The band is completed by bass player Vincent De Laat, who also participated in the Frozen Rain sessions and Rik's long time friend Geert Margodt on keyboards.
Producer Steffen Seeger (Iain Ashley Hersey, Midnite Club) oversaw the sessions, before the finishing touches to the album were put on the recordings in the German Empire Studios by Rolf Munkes (Dead End Heroes, Empire, Razorback, Tony Martin), who handled the mix and the mastering of the tracks.
Reading the names of everyone involved in RIK PRIEM'S PRIME it becomes obvious what to expect from the record, a hard rockin' slice of energetic Heavy Rock. The breath taking musical performances of each musician combined with Carsten's vocals on each song of the album, except for the instrumental "Chameleon", will attract any fan and follower of the previous and current bands and projects of the participating musicians to RIK PRIEM'S PRIME.
Rik Priem's musical history started with a bass guitar when he was 14, among the bands he discovered during his teen years were Rock and Punk icons like Deep Purple, Kiss, AC / DC, Dead Kennedys and the Sex Pistols. At the dawn of the 80s Judas Priest's "British Steel" album left a lasting impression on young Rik and when he heard the music of Def Leppard, Ozzy Osbourne, Dokken and Iron Maiden, he knew that he wanted an electric guitar and an amplifier. His parents granted him the wish and Rik's Hard Rock infection made him practice on the guitar for hours almost every day.
Over the years Rik's curiosity to explore music led him to listen to a variety of styles ranging from his Hard Rock roots to Blues and from Fusion to classical pieces. His passion for the guitar grew even stronger with the years and he developed his own technique to play the instrument. Joining a band and composing original music seemed like a natural move for Rik, so he began writing instrumental songs and playing with various local bands.
In 2000, after years of working on his skills in playing, tuning and repairing guitars, Rik finally decided to make a living out of his love for the guitar and became a professional guitar teacher and guitar technician.
The band experiences however didn't meet Rik's expectations on many levels and besides a few instrumentals on compilation albums his playing wasn't heard on a CD until he joined Kurt Vereecke's Melodic Rock project Frozen Rain in 2008 . The album "Ahead Of Time", on which Rik also co-wrote five songs, eventually came out in the spring of 2012.
Being a member of Frozen Rain was not only the starting point for a further co-operation with Carsten, who was the vital spark for RIK PRIEM'S PRIME as a band project, but it also opened the door to work on the debut of the Swedish AOR band Sapphire Eyes as a guest musician.
In support of the release of RIK PRIEM'S PRIME the band members are now gearing up to shoot a video for the stomping Heavy Rocker "Babylon Rising" and to bring the songs to the live stage.

With SAGA's new album "Sagacity", the Canadian progressive rockers manage to keep their characteristic sound alive while adding a modern touch to their music.
Or as Michael Sadler puts it: "For me this album marks a return to many of the signature elements that put Saga on the map at the onset of the band's career, while maintaining a firm grip on the here and now. Sagacity -- the English expression which stands for wisdom and cleverness -- pun intended -- has always been a huge part of the band's philosophy. SAGA has gotten wiser over the years which shows in their thoughtful, multileveled lyrics. They have gotten smarter with their music arrangements, always leaving the listener amazed with their creativity and inventiveness. Their richness of ideas reflects on the typical but always newly sounding keyboard sounds as well as in its striking melodies. On top of it, it's Michael Sadler's distinctive voice which molds the sound of SAGA, and he does so in an extremely good way.
"Sagacity" has it all -- and more. The special edition includes a bonus CD, "Saga Hits", including nine live recordings from an energetic performance at the SWR1 Rockarena festival in 2013. Ranging from one classic like "The Cross" to "On The Loose", the bonus CD surely captures the incredible live athmosphere of that night.
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of X-DRIVE's debut album entitled "Get Your Rock On" on August 22nd in Europe and August 26th in North America.
X-DRIVE is a new band centered around guitar player Jeremy Brunner, an Oregon transplant, who -- on the heels of his songwriting skills managed to put together an impressive debut with an affinity for catchy riffs, insightful lyrics and huge choruses.
Some of the best in Los Angeles have joined the ranks of X-DRIVE, including bassist James Lomenzo (White Lion, Megadeth, Black Label Society), singer Keith St. John (Burning Rain, Lynch Mob, Montrose) and to round out the project hard-hitting drummer Fred Fischer from Midline. Then legendary producer Andy Johns, the former Led Zeppelin engineer, was able to finish the X-DRIVE tracks just before his tragic death in 2013.
"It was such a pleasure to contribute to Jeremy's effort! He has written and crafted an incredible homage to the style of 80's rock, a style that I cut my teeth on back in the day," Lomenzo said. "His love for the era and style really comes through in a surprisingly satisfying way."
"Writing with Brunner was an absolute pleasure," St. John said. "On the whole, the vehicle for his musical canvasses has been a breath of fresh air in directness and simplicity. I found myself patently inspired to fashion my parts for this collection of songs that was Jeremy's own refreshing take on the '80s."
"Get Your Rock On" was mixed by Wyn Davis (Black Sabbath, Dio, Whitesnake, Dokken), and it took more than a year in the studio to make things just the way Brunner wanted, as the guitarist is a bit of a mastermind perfectionist. But it was definitely worth the wait! The X-DRIVE debut positively rocks from beginning to end.
